"The Hills are Alive" - UW-Whitewater's Symphonic Wind Ensemble to perform in Austria and Czech Republic
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's prestigious Symphonic Wind Ensemble will be traveling to Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague for their European tour.
After several tours in New York and Chicago, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble will embark on its next musical conquest: the cultures of Austria and Czech Republic. From March 17-26, the students will be performing at some of Europe's finest venues, including the Czech Museum of Music. The group has previously toured in England twice, most recently in 2005.
In 2013, the group was the first collegiate wind ensemble from Wisconsin to be invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, a venue of choice for the New York Philharmonic and other prestigious ensembles. A performance at Orchestra Hall in Chicago followed in 2014, by invitation.
